Photo-informed materials · Calculated daylight

Day Time

The same sun follows your chosen day and local time. Use Raytrace for bounced light and reflections.

Clear-sky illustration. North is estimated from Google Maps; neighboring buildings, upper storeys and vegetation are incomplete. This is not a measured daylight assessment.

Field of view 65° Exposure Texture detail

Changing texture detail restarts the walkthrough. High detail uses far more graphics memory; both versions have the same geometry.

Edge smoothing

Smooths jagged edges in the live view. 4× MSAA is crisper on geometry edges but uses more graphics memory and time, so phones and tablets start with SMAA only. Raytraced images get their own smoothing from the samples.

Pixel density

Pixels drawn for each point of your screen in the live view. Full is your screen's own density (at most 2×); half draws a quarter of the pixels, then scales them up, so it runs faster and uses less graphics memory but looks softer. Raytracing has its own density, relative to this one.

Show furniture while moving

Off: furniture is left out while you walk or look around, so moving stays smooth, and returns as soon as you stand still. Raytracing always includes it.

Surfaces come from Blender. Sunlight, shadows and reflections are calculated live; use Raytracing for bounced light. This is an unfurnished architectural study.

Raytracing calculates bounced light and reflections for the view you are standing in, at the texture detail set in Rendering. It starts when you press Raytrace, and moving, opening a door or changing the daylight discards it. When it finishes the button becomes a download.

FasterFiner

More steps take longer and give the denoiser a cleaner image to work from.

Pixel density

The live view stays at the density chosen in Rendering. Raytracing can trace fewer pixels: half is a quarter of them, so it is much quicker. On screen the result is scaled up to the live view's size, but Download saves it at the smaller size that was actually traced, sharp rather than blurry. Half is the default.

Denoiser

Large is a bigger Intel OIDN network: cleaner detail, a 7 MB download and noticeably more graphics memory and time. It is the default on computers; phones and tablets start with Standard.
